The Kifisia Flower Show returns for lovers of flowers and plants

The Kifisia Flower Show, an institution with a 130-year history, returns this year to the historic Kifisia Grove “Mayor Dimitrios Zomopoulos,” continuing a journey that began in 1896 and remains to this day inextricably linked to the identity of the city.

The 72nd Kifisia Flower Show will run from April 24 to May 17, while the official opening will take place on Sunday, April 26 at 19:00.

For Kifisia, the Flower Show is not simply a major spring event. It is a living tradition. It is the walks through the Grove, the familiar routes among the flowers, family outings, childhood memories — images of a city that each spring reconnects with a part of itself. It is an institution that has stood the test of time and continues to move people, precisely because it is not only part of Kifisia’s present, but also of its collective memory.

Kifisia Flower Show: A steady point of reference for Attica

For 130 years, the Flower Show has accompanied the city’s spring identity and highlights Kifisia’s deep connection with greenery, aesthetics, the care of public space, and a love for flowers. From the end of the 19th century to today, this event remains a steady point of reference not only for the city, but for all of Attica.

The Mayor of Kifisia, Mr. Vasilis Xypolytas, and the Deputy Councillor for Floriculture and Animal Welfare, Ms. Elena Chronopoulou, invite the public to take part once again in an event that carries the imprint of the city’s history and the passage of time.

This year’s Flower Show will not only be a celebration of flowers, but also a multifaceted spring experience for both young and old. Throughout its duration, numerous cultural events, concerts, and activities will take place, adding a special vibrancy to the Grove and further enhancing the festive character of the institution.

At the same time, during the opening ceremony, the organizers have prepared pleasant surprises that will fill not only the Grove but also the wider area with flowers, setting the distinctive tone of this year’s event from the very first day. A particular honor for this year’s edition is the presence of the Kingdom of Morocco, which will participate in the 72nd Flower Show, adding a unique international and cultural dimension.

In a statement, the Mayor of Kifisia, Vasilis Xypolytas, noted:

“The Kifisia Flower Show is not simply an institution of our city. It is a 130-year-old institution, deeply rooted in the history, memory, and spring identity of Kifisia. From 1896 to today, the Flower Show has accompanied the city on a unique journey of continuity and tradition. Every year, the Grove fills once again with colors, scents, and images that have shaped generations of residents and visitors. Together with the Deputy Councillor for Floriculture and Animal Welfare, Elena Chronopoulou, we invite everyone to visit the historic Kifisia Grove from April 24 to May 17 and celebrate together an institution that has been blooming in the heart of the city for 130 years.”

This year’s Flower Show serves as a reminder that some traditions do not lose their strength over time. On the contrary, they gain even greater value, precisely because they continue to connect the past with the present and provide the city with a stable point of reference, meeting, and beauty.

From April 24 to May 17, Kifisia once again welcomes its Flower Show — a 130-year-old institution that, from 1896 to today, remains one of the most vibrant parts of the city’s history.
