Omelettes, bagels and pancakes at any time of the day, with the motto “The Morning That Never Ends.” At Benedict Athens you can have breakfast and brunch from morning until night.
In all classic brunch spots and cafés, breakfast and brunch start early in the morning and last until late noon. In Omonia, however, there is a hangout — a paradise for brunch lovers everywhere — where the usual time restrictions do not apply and you can enjoy your eggs, your pancakes and your juice at any time of the day, even at ten at night. This is Benedict Athens.
We are talking about an all-day breakfast concept that came to us from Berlin, with the motto “The Morning That Never Ends”, promoting every moment of the day as the perfect time to enjoy a delicious and nutritious breakfast, even when the sun has long since set. Or, for example, to eat soft-boiled eggs and French toast after your early drinks in the city center.
The inspiration behind this concept comes from the story of Lemuel S. Benedict, who in 1894 walked into the Waldorf Astoria in New York looking for the “antidote” to the remnants of a wild night. From that creative encounter with the chef came the famous eggs Benedict, which today stand as the crown jewel of a cosmopolitan, hearty breakfast.
So what kind of breakfast can you have at Benedict Athens? On the menu, eggs naturally take center stage, and the variety is extensive, with options among characteristic egg dishes eaten in different countries around the world, from England to Germany, New York and the Middle East.
Indicative examples include the British breakfast with eggs, beans and bacon, the German breakfast with eggs, sausages and cabbage, the New York-style breakfast with egg and avocado in a bagel or crispy chicken on a waffle with hot honey, a French omelette with spinach and béchamel, shakshuka eggs, and eggs with spinach, puff pastry and feta that resemble a version of the beloved Greek spinach pie — all by chef Nikolaos Markogiannakis.
From a proper breakfast spot, pancakes with various toppings, French toast, toast, croissants and yogurt bowls with fruit could not be missing.
It operates from 7:30 in the morning, and the last order for all the above breakfast dishes can reach the kitchen of Benedict until 9:30 at night.
