Water for the strays

In anticipation of the heat wave expected these days in Athens, municipal authorities of Athens have provided water dispensers for stray dogs and cats to survive high temperatures and remain hydrated. The water dispensers have been placed in 34 key locations around the capital such as squares, parks and neighborhood streets, includingSyntagma, Monastiraki, Kolonaki, Pagkrati, Kato Patisia, Kipselli, Klafthmonos, Aghios Nikolaos, Kaningos, Victoria, Koumoundourou and more, and will be constantly restock by municipal crews.

The municipality of Athens also calls for the residents’ and visitors’ support and help in keeping the dispensers clean and filled with water at all times.
