Located in the heart of Athens, in Monastiraki, the Olivium Museum introduces visitors to the history, tradition and culture of Greek olive oil. It is a private museum owned by the Christodoulopoulos family, who maintain olive groves in Arcadia and continue producing olive oil through their family-owned olive mill.
The museum displays authentic machinery, tools and objects from the previous century, originating from the family’s old olive mill. Through these exhibits, visitors can discover the traditional olive oil production process, from harvesting the olives to pressing and storing this precious product.
The Olivium Museum is not merely an exhibition space, but a complete experience centred around the olive tree and olive oil. The museum includes a shop offering the producer’s products, as well as selected olive- and olive oil-related items. Visitors can also enjoy tasting experiences such as olive oil tastings led by trained staff and wine tastings, providing an opportunity to discover authentic Greek flavours.
The venue is also available for private events, making it a distinctive choice for those seeking an authentic cultural and gastronomic setting in Athens. For travellers, it is a stop that reveals why olive oil in Greece is much more than a product—it is memory, land and a way of life.
