A warning for a new dangerous virus on Facebook was issued by the Police Department of Computer Crime, drawing web users attention. The virus is defined as a malicious software from horror videos moving through Facebook, asking users to open and see them. As the police’s announcement notes, once this software is installed it acquires the ability to perform various illegal actions, such as disabling security settings and the firewall of the system and open backdoors for other infected programs, without the user’s knowledge. It can also interfere with the browser and the performance of the computer itself, changing the homepage and default search engine, while at the same time, unwanted banners appear with pages for subscriber services messages and malicious files for downloading.
