Cultural Coast Piraeus reaches final stage

One more step towards completion of the Cultural Coast Piraeus project is made, said president and CEO of Piraeus Port Authority (PPA) George Anomeritis, announcing on Monday the final results of the open architectural competition that launched March 27, 2014. The project involves the creation of an 180,000m2 open space to host four museums (Underwater Antiquities, Thematic Archaeological, Immigration and Ancient Greek Technology) as well as leisure and theme parks. The Cultural Coast of Piraeus would bring the Attica port on the spotlight as an important city destination for the Mediterranean region. It is the “largest redevelopment project in Piraeus and western Athens, linked closely to tourism and culture, paving the way for the 2,500-year anniversary of the Battle of Salamis in 2021”, said Mr. Anomeritis.
