National Gallery hosts digital El Greco exhibition

The National Gallery in Athens pays homage to the great El Greco with a “digital” exhibition that spotlights the artist’s monumental artistic heritage. With the aid of highly advanced technology, Greco’s infamous temple frescos and paintins that are to big and heavy to be transferred from world museums’ collections are “recomposed” and projected at their physical size on a 4x6m screen. The visual representation of the works, completed with a vast variety of high-resolution photographic material, livens up Greco’s creative verve and extraordinary color opulence. An elegant narration by Marina Lambrakis Plaka, accompanied by the music of composer Vaggelis Papathanasiou and Spanish ecclesiastic tunes will lure visitors into Greco’s insuperable world.
